The police have arrested Ramon Adedoyin, the owner of Oduduwa University, in connection with the death of Timothy Adegoke, a postgraduate student at Obafemi Awolowo University.

Mr Adedoyin owns the Hilton Hotel and Resort, where Mr Adegoke stayed.

On November 5, Mr Adegoke checked into the hotel to take his exams at the OAU distance learning center in Moro, Osun.

The student went missing two days after checking into the hotel and was later discovered dead.

An Islamic cleric who allegedly oversaw the ritual left with the victim’s phone, which authorities later tracked and led to his arrest.

The Osun police command said in a statement that six people were arrested in connection with Mr Adegoke’s death.

Mr Adedoyin was arrested on November 15, according to Yemisi Opalola, an Osun police spokeswoman.

According to the statement, Mr Adedoyin is being questioned in connection with the case while the police await the hospital’s autopsy report.
