Police woman puts niece’s hands in hot water for stealing meat
The FCT police command has arrested one of its female officers, simply identified as Ruth, for allegedly inflicting injuries on her 10-year-old niece, Miracle.
Ruth allegedly dipped her hand in hot water after catching Miracle stealing a piece of meat from her pot of soup at their Dutse Alhaji residence on Christmas Eve.
Neighbors alerted police after hearing the minor’s cries. According to an eyewitness,
“On Christmas Eve, she caught the young girl stealing a piece of meat from her pot of soup that she had prepared for the holiday.”
“She was furious with her and tied her niece’s two hands with rope and submerged them in hot water.”
“Her neighbors overheard her sobbing, and she later fled.” They were taken aback by what they saw. The girl suffered serious injuries to both hands, and one of her neighbors, unable to bear it, called the police.
“It was the police who rushed her to Kubwa General Hospital.” The officer is still assigned to the Dutse Alhaji division.”
Ruth’s arrest was confirmed by FCT police spokesperson DSP Josephine Adeh, who also revealed that an investigation is ongoing.
