When we talk about beach getaways, the first places that come to mind are the popular Lagos Bar beach, Tarkwa Bay, Eleko, Oniru etc.. However, you might want to consider beach getaways when you are far away from the hustle and bustle of Lagos, this is why we are bringing to you five beautiful beaches from the South South, South East and North Central. 


Patigi beach is located along the River Niger in Pategi Kwara State. Fishermen and fishing enthusiasts doing their thing gives the beach a pleasurable ambience. The Beach has a silky soft sand and a palm-fringed backdrop, the landscape and activities that you can partake in while on the beach all form a part of the memorable experience.


Renowned for being the longest sand beach in Africa, the Ibeno beach which is located in Ibeno local government area of Akwa-Ibom State, stretches 45km from Ibeno to JamesTown. 

Highly rated for its peaceful and safe surroundings, the beach also has some relics of missionary expedition which attracts tourists to it. It was the landing site of the Qua-Iboe Christian mission which arrived in Nigeria from Scotland in the early 2th century. Ibeno beach has a beautiful coastline, boat rides, archery, canoeing and many more side attractions to offer.


Located on Finima street, Bonny Island in Portharcourt, Rivers State which is home to various oil companies including Royal Dutch Shell, Mobil, Chevron, and Agip among others.The Finima beach is a preferred place for holiday treat, tour and getaways.Oil workers as well as local tourists can be found at every point in time, especially during the festive seasons.


The sparkling white sand, palm trees, tropical plants and endless sunshine gracing the environment makes the Asaba beach, located in Otuogu, Delta State a beauty to behold. Some call the beach Otuogu beach, but whichever name you might want to call it, be rest assured that a wonderful time awaits you at the beach where honeymooners, tourists, class groups and many more categories of fun seekers are frequent visitors.


The  Ifoko beach in Rivers State may not be as popular and as spectacular as the others on the list, however, Ifoko Beach is quite popular and attracts a lot of visitors. But unlike some of the other beaches in the area, it is not man made. This preservation of nature means that you can still see many animals in their natural habitat, including sea creatures.
