Two of the 66 worshippers abducted by bandits from Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kakau Daji, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been killed, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria

This comes one week after they were kidnapped during a church service on October 31, 2021.

Rev Joseph Hayab, the Vice President of CAN (19 Northern States and Abuja) and the organization’s chairman in Kaduna State, revealed the news in a message to The PUNCH on Sunday.

According to him, on Saturday, the bandits opened fire on five of their victims, killing two of them, while three others were injured and are currently in the hospital.

“Two of the 66 worshipers abducted at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kakau Daji, Chikun LGA of Kaduna State on Sunday, October 31, 2021, have been killed by their captors,” Hayab said.

“On Saturday, November 6, 2021, the bandits opened fire on five of their victims, killing two and leaving three others seriously injured in the hospital.

“The lives of Kaduna’s kidnapped worshipers are in jeopardy, and the government and security agencies must act quickly.”

“The insecurity in Kaduna State has continued to grow beyond our wildest expectations, endangering the nation’s peace.”

“CAN Kaduna State is pleading with well-intentioned individuals, organizations, and those in positions of authority, particularly the Federal Government and the international community, to come to our aid.”

“The evil we are witnessing is beyond the capacity of the average Kaduna and Nigerian.

“CAN is urging all Christians and residents of our state to unite in combating this evil and to remain vigilant.”

“CAN Kaduna State is pleading with well-intentioned individuals, organizations, and those in positions of authority, particularly the Federal Government and the international community, to come to our aid.”
